The Vice-President of MAN PrimeServ, per Rud, proceeded on November 8, 2018, at the inauguration of the new Dakar Service Centre in the presence of Abdou Abasse Fofana, General Manager of MAN energy solutions Senegal, Stefan roken, Ambassador of the Republic from Germany, representatives of local authorities and leaders of large Senegalese companies. With this inauguration, MAN energy solutions strengthens its local presence in West Africa with a new service workshop for the energy, industry, oil and gas sector.
In a press release reached at VivAfrik, it is mentioned that this offer of services complements the portfolio of MAN energy solutions Senegal, already very present in the territory by equipping in particular the plant of Tobène. 15% of the country's energy needs are covered by the MAN 48/60 engines.
"The opening of this new workshop reflects the willingness of MAN energy solutions to develop a network of local services and to be as close to its customers as they are to meet their needs," explained Abdou Abasse Fofana in the paper.
According to our source, one of the main objectives of the local entity created by MAN energy solutions is to offer privileged services to important customers such as SENELEC, Tobene power, the CIMENTS du Sahel, the shipowners and other industrialists of the Region. In addition, the Service Centre will be able to radiate to neighbouring countries by providing services to all West African countries.
The team of MAN energy solutions Senegal consists of 21 employees including 7 technicians. Dakar becomes the main service site of MAN energy solutions for this area. This new facility, equipped with State-of-the-art technology to perform complex repairs, includes a balancer, valve and seat grinding, de-icing, engine performance control and thus allows to offer preventive and curative maintenance offers on all types of engines. This workshop will also support the promotion of retrofit TC in an area where the potential is real.
